Payment Policies
Due to the continuous changes in the insurance industry, we have been prompted into adopting a new financial policy: Payment for all services is expected to be made on the date of service without exception. We will accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. As an alternative for our patients without insurance that reimburses or for those on a very tight financial budget, we do offer special pricing packages that include:

While many chiropractors think they are doing their patients a great service by taking care of all the paperwork on their behalf, the reverse is actually true! Remember, the insurance contract is between the patient and the insurance company. The chiropractors are the real third party, who, by filing the paperwork for the patient, are immediately suspect. When we file the paperwork, the patient’s case is monitored like a hawk. The unfortunate result, is that the net benefits that the patient ultimately enjoys, can be reduced. It is more likely that patients will get fewer questions, better reimbursement, and less hassle if they file their own paperwork (with the exception of medicare, by law).
If payment cannot be made on the day of service, we ask that you please reschedule your appointment. Many insurances today include chiropractic care coverage, and for those with insurance, we will give you all the diagnostic & fee information that you need via a computer generated receipt, in order to get you the maximum reimbursement allowed by your policy (or we can submit your paid receipts / documentation on your behalf if you wish us to). We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company before you come in, to ask them what your policy coverage is, so there are no surprises for you, as well as what form they can send you to help with your reimbursement. (Most of the time it’s a single page.) Also, by having you, the policy holder, in charge of your reimbursement, it is a better situation for you, in that you personally are the one who has the agreement with your insurance carrier, so it is more likely that they will pay you, than us, the provider. If you are a medicare patient we will still collect our fee on the date of service, and we will then submit your claim to medicare, after which they will mail you a reimbursement check (as appropriate). Again, for your own piece of mind, we ask that you inquire as to the amount of reimbursement you can expect.
While health insurance is designed to protect you in the event of a costly, major illness or injury, health insurance companies do not pay for unlimited chiropractic care. Even the best health insurance policies have limitations on the amount of chiropractic care they will pay for. In general, health insurance companies will pay for enough chiropractic care to get you through "the relief care" phase (approximately 12 to 20 visits) and some will even pay for a few more than that. However, no insurance companies will pay for corrective, rehabilitative or maintenance chiropractic care. This is exactly why our reduced full service office call fee at The Sanctuary Chiropractic & Wellness Spa is designed to allow you to receive all the chiropractic care you need to obtain maximum improvement in your health conditions, at a minimum cost to you. It is also important to understand that long term problems often require long term solutions. The stress factors that caused (or contribute to) your problems are still very much at work in your life. After you receive your chiropractic care you usually return into the environment that caused your problem in the first place. This is part of the reason we recommend that you choose long term remodeling corrective care, rather than short term, relief care. Whatever type of care you choose, we are here to serve you and support you in your health care decisions. We know that you have many choices for health care providers, & as always it would be our great pleasure to better your health. I would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to use my fifteen clinical years of active field experience to serve you.
It is also worth mentioning here, that chiropractic care tops the list of alternative care options offered by Michigan employers, according to the 2006 "Controlling Health Care Costs Study" conducted by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. As well as the fact that this years number of businesses offering insurance with chiropractic care improves on last years's by 15% (57% over 42%).
The Sanctuary Chiropractic & Wellness Spa was created out of the confusion that is our current healthcare system. Our plan is not a new idea but a collection of many concepts developed by doctors, hospitals and other organizations. These concepts aim to create practices that achieve results in safety, effectiveness, timeliness, availability, affordability, and patient-centeredness.
We believe to achieve this aim, we must focus on the most basic building block of healthcare...the doctor-patient relationship. To do this, we choose to build-up our relationship with our patients while tearing-down barriers that the government and insurance companies set up. At The Sanctuary Chiropractic & Wellness Spa , we use a one doctor-one-patient approach. We see one patient at a time in our state-of-the-art office with multiple healthcare technologies. We only have one doctor, Dr. Patrick F. Jary, a board certified chiropractor. All appointments are booked in advance, allowing maximum time for your care and questions. When you arrive, you are greeted by your doctor or wellness associate, so none of your time is spent waiting. When you leave, our wellness associates will check you out and make sure all of your personal needs have been met. As long as you are at The Sanctuary Chiropractic & Wellness Spa , you will always be with your health team & your friends.
We also believe family healthcare can be affordable when done in this setting. We have seen how insurance company red tape, paper work, government bureaucracy, and law suits have pushed health care beyond availability of most hard working Americans. Because our expenses are low, we can provide outstanding health care for reasonable prices. Due to extensive regulations, paperwork, and red tape, we DO NOT accept insurance (although we will bill Medicare on your behalf, as appropriate). As an alternative for our patients without insurance that reimburses or for those on a very tight financial budget, we do offer special pricing packages that include:

Why we DO NOT take Insurance:
The majority of insurance companies are in business to make money, not provide healthcare. We continue to see increasing premiums for less service along with more paperwork, denials and red tape. Each year insurance companies expect patients to pay more and doctors to receive less, so they can make a huge profit. We at The Sanctuary Chiropractic & Wellness Spa are not against capitalism--we believe in it--however, we aim to see healthcare put back in the hands of patients and their physicians. Our solution for this issue is affordable family health care that can be paid for before you leave the office. If you do have insurance, we can provide you with the appropriate documentation to file with your insurance provider if you want to submit a claim (or we can submit your paid receipts / documentation on your behalf if you wish us to).
